U.S. 20 seal coating between north Rexburg and south St. Anthony starts Monday (Aug. 20)

RIGBY - Seal coating on U.S. 20 between north Rexburg and south St. Anthony will start Monday (Aug. 20), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The seal coat, which finishes a repaving project that started last year, is scheduled for completion Friday (Aug. 24).

Crews will seal coat three miles of northbound U.S. 20 between the north Rexburg Interchange (Exit 337) and the Madison-Fremont county line (milepost 340) and six miles of southbound U.S. 20 between the north Rexburg Interchange (Exit 337) and the south St. Anthony exit (Exit 344).

Travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The speed limit in work areas will be reduced to 35 miles per hour.

Commercial drivers transporting permitted loads wider than 16 feet need to contact Resident Engineer Matt Davison (208-745-5686) 24 hours in advance for special authorization to pass through the construction zone.

Motorists should observe posted speed limits and keep a safe distance from other vehicles to reduce potential windshield damage.

The transportation department awarded Western Construction Inc., of Boise, the $5.3 million contract.
