NEW MEADOWS -- An overturned lumber truck prompted closure of U.S. 95 about five miles south of Tamarack this morning, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

ITD crews were enroute to the crash sight at midmorning to assist with removing debris spilled from the truck. Both lanes of the highway are blocked, but one lane could open to alternating traffic early this afternoon. Both lanes are expected to be open by about 2:30 p.m.

Motorists traveling on U.S. 95 between Council and New Meadows should look for an alternate route or schedule their trip outside of the anticipated blockage period.
