Access limited overnight on Eagle Road between River Valley and Chinden through Friday
MERIDIAN – The southbound lanes of Eagle Road from River Valley Street to Chinden Boulevard will continue to be closed at night through Friday (Aug. 31) as crews mill the roadway. Crews will not be working Sept. 1-3 during the Labor Day weekend. The construction is part of the second phase of the Idaho Transportation Department’s Eagle Road Improvement Project.
Between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., all traffic in the construction area will be moved to the northbound side of Eagle Road, where one lane will remain open in each direction.
Nighttime access will be limited to neighborhoods and businesses along Eagle Road between River Valley Street and Chinden Boulevard. Please use alternate routes to avoid Eagle Road during the nighttime lane closures if you live in the area. Flaggers will direct traffic and help drivers find alternate routes to their homes and businesses.
ITD asks travelers to please plan ahead during construction, pay attention in construction zones and be aware of the safety of construction workers.
Idaho Sand & Gravel Co., of Nampa, is the construction contractor on this $4.7 million project.
For more information about the project, please check the Eagle Road Improvement Project page on ITD’s project website at: http://itd.idaho.gov/projects/D3/eagle-road-improvement
When complete, the improvements will preserve the surface of Eagle Road, relieve congestion and improve safety on this important corridor.
