REMINDER: Construction to begin on I-90 Beck Road Interchange overpass structure; expect delays and detours

COEUR d’ALENE – Motorists can expect delays and detours at the Interstate 90 Beck Road Interchange project as work gets under way to construct the interchange overpass, beginning Sunday night (Sept. 9) the Idaho Transportation Department announced.  A second span of the structure will be put in place the following night (Monday, Sept. 10).

The work will be done at night, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., to lessen the impact to motorists. Intermittent lane closures will occur through Nov. 1, as the contractor continues building the overpass structure.

When necessary, traffic will be detoured onto Seltice Way - eastbound traffic at the Stateline interchange and westbound traffic at the Pleasantview interchange. Electronic message signs will warn motorists when the detour is in effect.

The speed limit on I-90 has been temporarily reduced to 55 mph. Reducing and maintaining a consistent speed limit will help provide a safer work zone for highway users and workers alike.

The reduced speed will be in place until the project is completed later this year.
