Work resumes on the U.S. 93 Twin Falls Alternate Route Stage 1
SHOSHONE - Construction on the U.S. 93 Twin Falls Alternate Route project from Washington Street to Blue Lakes Boulevard is under way, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Within the next few months the contractor will:
  • continue reconstruction of the Perrine Coulee Bridge,
  • begin work on the intersection of Pole Line Road and Washington Street, and
  • finish work on Washington Street north.
Washington Street north of Pole Line Road is closed. A section of the old Pole Line Road from Washington Street to Blake Street is open for nearby residents of Villa Del Rio and Los Lagos. Motorists must use Canyon Crest Road to access businesses and all other residences located on Washington Street North.

Utility work will also resume throughout the construction corridor. Flaggers will direct traffic. Some lane reductions and delays of up to 10 minutes can be expected.

Western Construction of Boise is the contractor for the $18.8 million Stage 1.

Motorists are reminded to slow down in highway construction zones. Rear-end collisions account for most work zone crashes.
