Median of I-84 near Sand Hollow will be leveled for safety starting Tuesday
BOISE - The median of Interstate 84 near Sand Hollow, a few miles east of Black Canyon, will be leveled in a project that starts Tuesday (Oct. 9), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The project is expected to finish by the end of October.
The speed limit will be reduced to 65 mph on weekdays between mileposts 13 (Black Canyon) and 17 (Sand Hollow), and the inside (left) lanes will be closed in each direction while work takes place.
The leveling is a safety improvement to minimize water runoff that created soft-spot hazards in the median.
Irvco Asphalt & Gravel Inc., of Fruitland, is the contractor on the $235,000 project.
