Inclement weather, threat of more, delays I-84 maintenance work until Thursday
BOISE - The Interstate 84 work scheduled for this week has been postponed by rain yesterday and the threat of more today.
The upcoming work on Thursday (Oct. 18) was originally scheduled for today.
In that work, ITD's Boise maintenance crew will be performing a mill and inlay on eastbound I-84 from milepost 60.1 to 60.5. The right lane will be closed and the speed reduced to 55 mph.
Two days of activity remain the following week. On one day, the crew will be milling and paving the Gowen Railroad approaches,
resulting in the closure of the eastbound right lane of I-84 from about
noon to 4 p.m. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph. Electronic
readerboards will be used to alert drivers to the eastbound closure at
Exit 57, recommending that motorists access Idaho 21 via Exit 59. The
westbound left inside lane will be closed in the afternoon.
On another day, I-84 at Gowen will be paved, with the outside westbound done in the morning and the inside eastbound side in the afternoon. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
This work is weather dependent, and no specific schedule has been set yet.
