Draft State Highway 53 Access Study is available for public review and comment
COEUR D’ALENE - District 1 of the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is seeking public comments on the DRAFT State Highway 53 Transportation Access Study through Dec. 24, 2012.
The study is available for public review at the District 1 Office, 600 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, and on the ITD project website at: https://itd.idaho.gov/Projects/D1/SH_53AccessManagementStudy/default.asp
The study focuses on access management strategies along the State Highway 53 corridor from the Washington State line to the junction with U.S. 95, as a means to balance safety, system capacity, and efficient use of highway funds with property owners’ access needs.
The goal of the study is to develop and adopt Transportation Access Plans jointly with the city of Hauser, the city of Rathdrum, and Kootenai County for the purpose of managing access points and operations along the highway.
