Free-flowing right turn from Linder onto Idaho 44 will close permanently Friday

EAGLE – To accommodate widening at the intersection, the free-flowing right turn from northbound Linder Road onto Idaho 44 will close permanently Friday (Jan. 4) after the morning commute. The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) continues improvements to the intersection.

Drivers will still be able to make turning movements at the intersection. When modifications are complete, the free-running right turn from northbound Linder Road onto Idaho 44 will be replaced with a designated right-turn lane. Drivers will pull up to the intersection and make a right turn when the signal allows, or when it is safe.

The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph in the construction zone. At least one lane in each direction will remain open throughout construction, but lanes may be restricted at night. Access to businesses and residences around the intersection remain open.

Safety is ITD’s top priority. Please remember to slow down and plan ahead during construction. Also, please pay attention in construction zones and be aware of the safety of construction workers.

Central Paving, Inc. and Horrocks Engineers are the design-build team for this $9.23 million project.

Construction is expected to be completed by this fall.
