ITD road-clearing crews doing battle with the elements in the Treasure Valley
BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department's maintenance crews are out all over the valley treating the roads, even in the closed area from Boise to Bliss on Interstate 84.
Law enforcement initiated the closure, as large trucks were having trouble staying on the highway.
All available ITD crews are out and have been since about 2 a.m., treating the highway primarily with salt and sand. De-icer is ineffective at these lower temperatures, but if it continues to warm this morning, de-icer may be used when it surpasses that 27-degree threshold.
