Bridge work to close U.S. 26 business loop southwest of Ririe between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 27)
RIGBY - Bridge work will close the U.S. 26 business loop southwest of Ririe between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 27), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Traffic between Ririe and Idaho Falls will be detoured along the U.S. 26 business loop between Ririe and U.S. 26 at the Hillview Sinclair service station/convenience store.
Crews will place girders for a new bridge on the Farmer’s Friendly Canal near U.S. 26. Abutments for the bridge are located approximately three-quarters of a mile from the junction of the business loop and U.S. 26 southwest of Ririe.
The transportation department will place portable electronic message boards on U.S. 26 to notify the public of the planned closure.
Highway construction is one of the key forces pushing Idaho toward full economic recovery by creating jobs, improving safety and reducing traffic congestion.
