Restrictions planned at Moscow intersection beginning Wednesday
RESENDING / REMINDER: This construction project begins Monday and continues through the weekend in downtown Moscow.
MOSCOW – Construction on the north end of Moscow will limit traffic at U.S. 95 and D Street, beginning Wednesday (May 1) and continuing through the weekend, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Contractors will repair traffic signal detector loops imbedded in highway at the intersection. The detector loops were damaged during rebuilding of a nearby convenience store. ITD will take advantage of the opportunity to replace a traffic signal cabinet at the intersection.
U.S. 95 will be limited to a single lane in both directions during construction and some turning moves will not be possible. The traffic signal will not operate during the repairs. Motorists planning to travel east or west near the intersection will have a detour of about one block. They are advised to follow detour signs.
Repairs should be complete by Thursday, but the intersection is not expected to reopen until Monday morning (May 6), allowing new concrete time to cure.
