For first time ever, dust storm closes Idaho 32 between Idaho 33 and Idaho 47
RIGBY - For the first time ever, reduced visibility caused by blowing dust has closed Idaho 32 between Idaho 33 and Idaho 47, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Idaho 32 closed at 4:30 p.m. today (Monday, April 29).
The transportation department estimates the state highway could reopen late tonight, if wind subsides sufficiently. The National Weather Service forecasts sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph this afternoon and evening, with gusts of up to 60 mph.
Visibility along Idaho 33 also is reduced, although the road is still open.
Motorists should drive with extreme care and observe traffic signs and signals. High winds make for highly dangerous driving conditions.
