ITD crews will replace lighting on underside of Flying Wye structure Wednesday and Thursday

BOISE - Crews will restrict westbound traffic tomorrow and Thursday (May 1 and 2) where Interstate 84 meets Connector (I-184) traffic, in order to replace light bulbs on the underside of the Flying Wye bridge, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, crews will close one lane of traffic and shift the other lanes of traffic in order to accommodate traffic flow.

"On Wednesday we will close the left lane and shift the two right lanes over to make room for the electricians to work, and on Thursday we will close the right lane and shift the two left lanes over to accommodate the electricians," explained Richard Peryer, foreman of ITD's Boise Maintenance. "By doing this we will be able to keep two westbound lanes open at all times and not have traffic bottlenecked in a single lane."

Crews work outside of peak commuting times in an effort to minimize impacts to drivers.
