Athol to Granite traffic shift on U.S. 95 planned for May 23

COEUR d'ALENE - As part of the Athol-to-Granite south section of the Garwood-to-Sagle reconstruction, traffic on the route will be shifted to the newly constructed southbound lanes of U.S. 95. The shift will take start Thursday (May 23), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Weather could delay the four-mile traffic shift until after Memorial Day. Rain would prohibit final striping, in which case the shift would begin May 28.

Traffic will use the new southbound lanes while the northbound lanes are constructed. Access to local roads will be maintained.

Drivers are asked to be aware of the change in the traffic pattern.

Scarsella Brothers of Kent, Wash., is the contractor on this $21 million project.
