Speed limit on U.S. 20/26 south of Arco to be adjusted July 29

RIGBY - The speed limit on U.S. 20/26 south of Arco will be adjusted Monday (July 29), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Crews will extend the 35 mph speed limit on U.S. 20/26 (South Front Street) in Arco approximately one-third of a mile to the Golden West Café south of town, lowering the 55 mph speed limit in that area.

The transportation department conducted engineering and safety studies, determining that an adjustment was needed.

Speed limits are set to be the maximum allowed under favorable weather conditions and supplement driver judgment of appropriate speeds.

Motorists should watch for road crews during sign installation July 29.

Idaho State Police and local law enforcement officers will patrol the route during and after the transition.
