Resurfacing project begins on U.S. 12 east of Lewiston; lanes reduced
LEWISTON - Lane reductions were introduced today (April 6) on U.S. 12 east of Lewiston as crews began a five-week, 15-mile resurfacing project, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The $1.9 million project extends from Lewiston to the Arrow Bridge. Where the highway has four lanes, traffic will be reduced to three lanes; segments of two lanes will be reduced to one. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car.

Motorists are advised to expect delays.

Poe Asphalt Inc. of Lewiston is the contractor for the resurfacing project, which should be completed before Memorial Day. Resurfacing will eliminate ruts on the heavily traveled route between Lewiston and Orofino, provide a smoother ride and better traction and will protect the highway from weather damage.
