Public comment sought on Rose Interchange
BLACKFOOT – The public is invited to attend a meeting on Thursday, Aug. 1, to discuss proposed improvements to the I-15 Rose Interchange, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.
The public meeting will be at the Blackfoot City Council Chambers, 157 North Broadway, 2nd Floor, in Blackfoot, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The meeting will be an open-house format that allows individuals to view information and visit with project staff anytime between those hours.
The purpose of the meeting is to gather input on the Rose Interchange and where potential improvements could be made. Feedback will help the project team narrow design options and evaluate the feasibility of improvements. Illustrations of the project and potential options for improvements will be available to view. ITD staff will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the interchange.
“There is an opportunity here to identify potential
improvements for the Rose Interchange,” said Mark Snyder, a project development engineer with the transportation department. “The interchange has reached the end of its service life, it
doesn’t provide enough clearance for interstate traffic and the configuration
of the ramps creates safety concerns. We’re looking forward to hearing
the public’s thoughts and ideas for future improvements.”
