Broadway ramps to Federal Way closed overnight Saturday, Sunday for micro-seal
BOISE – All on- and off-ramps at Broadway Avenue (U.S. 20/26) leading to and from Federal Way will be closed Saturday and Sunday nights (Aug. 17, 18) as crews apply a micro-seal to the ramp surfaces to protect and extend pavement life and provide better vehicle traction.
Electronic message signs will be placed 24 hours in advance of the closures to alert drivers to the upcoming work. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.
Although this ramp work will be done by early Monday, work under this contract will extend through early September. Overall, about one and one-half miles of Idaho 44 and four miles of U.S. 20/26 will be micro-sealed.
The micro-seal is comparable to a seal coat but is premixed and applied as a slurry spray. The micro-seal often is used in high-traffic areas instead of a seal coat.
Intermountain Slurry Seal, of Salt Lake City, is the contractor on the $1.1 million project.
