Seal-coat repair planned on Meridian Road Friday, next week
BOISE - Crews will perform warranty work on Meridian Road on Friday (Aug. 16) and from Monday through Thursday (Aug. 19-22) of the following week, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The road, which is Idaho 69, was seal coated between Interstate 84 and Kuna late last summer.
"Crews will repair approximately five of the six miles of highway from the failed seal coat last summer," said ITD Project Manager David Barrett. "The original work
was under warranty, so these repairs are being done at no additional
cost to taxpayers."

The outer lanes will require the least amount of repair. The inner (passing) lanes will require more repair and the median will require the most.
It is expected that no repair will be needed north of Victory Road on Idaho 69, aside from limited median work between Victory and Overland Road that should not require lane closures.
The contractor will work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., between the morning and evening commutes. The area will be swept at night to remove excess rock chips.
Flaggers will be used at intersections, with the speed limit reduced to 45 mph.
Crews will start at the south end of the project and move north in two-mile sections in the northbound lanes and median. They will continue north until they reach Victory Road, then turn around and head back in the southbound lanes after completing the median north of Victory.
Flaggers will only be used in the two-mile section crews are working on at the time. Outside of that two-mile stretch, traffic will be shifted back onto the repaired sections behind the crews as work progresses, and all lanes will be open ahead of the work. The speed-limit restriction will be in place throughout the project zone.
Heading south on Idaho 69, average daily traffic drops from about 23,000 at Overland to about 5,500 at Kuna Road.
The contractor, Sierra Nevada Construction, of Sparks, Nev., has completed repairs on U.S. 20 north of Mountain Home, on portions of Interstate 84 at the Eisenman interchange. They are finalizing repairs on a section of Idaho 21, and on a portion of U.S. 30 in New Plymouth.
