Travelers can expect delays on Snake River Bridge in Payette next week for bridge testing
PAYETTE – The Idaho 52 Snake River Bridge in Payette will be restricted Monday-Wednesday (Aug. 26-28) as Idaho Transportation Department and Oregon Department of Transportation crews attach sensors and conduct testing.
Dates and times are weather dependent and subject to change.
To facilitate the work and bridge-inspection equipment, the bridge will be restricted to single-lane travel with flaggers at both ends of the bridge controlling traffic.
The bridge also will be closed intermittently Tuesday to all traffic for up to 20 minutes at a time to run stress tests.
The bridge, built in 1953, was posted with a weight restriction earlier this year due to bridge age and capacity.
