Traffic signal at Idaho 44 and Park Lane will be turned off Thursday night

EAGLE – Crews will be working overnight on the traffic signal at the intersection of Idaho 44 and Park Lane Thursday (Aug. 29), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. The signal will be turned off, but will be back in operation by Friday morning.

Flaggers will direct traffic through the intersection from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be restricted to one lane at various times during the night.

This work is part of ITD’s improvement project on Idaho 44 from Linder Road to Ballantyne Lane. To accommodate the anticipated future increase in traffic, the Idaho 44/ Linder Road intersection is being rebuilt. When complete, the Idaho 44/Linder Road intersection will have two through lanes in each direction on Idaho 44, double left-turn bays on Linder Road and right-turn lanes at all four sides of the intersection. In addition, Idaho 44 will be widened to five lanes from W. State Street to just west of Linder Road.

The current traffic pattern on Idaho 44 will stay in place through the end of August. Throughout the month of September, traffic will be shifted and moved to accommodate the completion of the final work. The project is expected to be complete by early October.

Drivers are asked to slow down, pay attention in construction zones and be aware of the safety of construction workers. Motorists can expect delays during construction, should plan extra time for trips and, if possible, find an alternate route. Patience is appreciated as ITD works on these improvements.
