UPDATE: Traffic signals on Idaho 44 at Linder Road and W. State Street will be turned off tonight
EAGLE – Crews will work overnight on the traffic signals at the intersection of Idaho 44/Linder Road and Idaho 44/W. State Street tonight (Thursday, Sept. 5), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. The signals will be turned off, and flaggers will direct traffic through the intersection from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be restricted to one lane at various times during the night.
The signals will be back in operation by Friday morning (Sept. 6).
On
Sunday night (Sept. 8) crews will begin the final paving of Idaho 44.
Nighttime paving activities will continue through next Saturday (Sept.
14). Drivers should expect nighttime flagging, traffic shifts and
intermittent lane closures on Idaho 44 between W. State Street and
Linder Road during paving.
This work is part of ITD’s
improvement project on Idaho 44 between Linder Road and Ballantyne Lane.
To accommodate the anticipated future increase in traffic, the Idaho
44/ Linder Road intersection is being rebuilt. The project is expected
to be complete by early October.
When complete, the Idaho
44/Linder Road intersection will have two through lanes in each
direction on Idaho 44, double left-turn bays on Linder Road and
right-turn lanes at all four sides of the intersection. In addition,
Idaho 44 will be widened to five lanes from W. State Street to just west
of Linder Road.
Drivers are asked to please slow down, pay
attention in construction zones and be aware of the safety of
construction workers. Motorists can expect delays during construction,
should plan extra time for trips and, if possible, find an alternate
route. Patience is appreciated.
