Turn-lane construction on Kimberly Road begins Monday

TWIN FALLS – Construction will begin Monday (Sept. 16) on a center turn lane at U.S. 30 (Kimberly Road) and 3400 East Road near Kimberly, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Kimberly Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction as construction takes place along the shoulder and in the intersection. The project includes reconstructing the approaches at 3400 East Road to improve sight distance from the intersecting road, and will require closure of the roads for pipe installation and reconstruction.

Drivers are asked to use caution through the work zone and watch for workers and equipment. A 50-mph speed limit restriction will be in place.

Kloepfer Inc., of Paul, is the contractor for the $246,855 federally-funded project. Work is expected to be complete by mid-October.
