CORRECTED VERSION: Search underway near Donnelly for missing aircraft
EDITOR'S NOTE: THIS VERSION CORRECTS OWNERSHIP OF THE MISSING AIRCRAFT
BOISE – The search is underway for a missing aircraft out of McCall, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The missing aircraft is a white
Cessna 206 single-engine airplane that seats six. A pilot and two passengers
were on board. The aircraft left McCall this morning for the Frank Church
River of No Return Wilderness. The plane is registered to Wilderness Aircraft of McCall.
Search efforts by Idaho Army National Guard helicopters have been concentrated in an area a few miles east of Donnelly, based on the missing aircraft’s Emergency Locator Transmitter signal. The area is inaccessible to motor vehicles.
Inclement weather and high-mountain snow are hampering search efforts. The search will continue at daylight.
