Idaho 16, Eagle Road mileposts will soon be renumbered
BOISE - Mileposts on the northern part of Idaho 16 and part of Eagle Road (Idaho 55) will be renumbered soon to eliminate confusion and prepare for future growth, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Effective Jan. 15, 2014, Idaho 16 will be renumbered to accommodate growth to the south. Changes to Eagle Road markers also will remove duplicate or overlapping mileposts with another section of Idaho 55, eliminating confusion for emergency responders, dispatchers, the 511 Traveler Services system and the 911 emergency system.
The new milepost on Idaho 16 will be numbered 100 at its junction with State Street and will increase north toward Emmett. The junction now begins with milepost 0, leaving no room for descending numbers to the south.
