Power outage affects eastern Idaho traffic signals; drivers urged to use caution
RIGBY – A widespread power outage that interrupted service to nearly 50,000 Rocky Mountain Power customers in eastern Idaho today (Wednesday, Dec. 4), also affects traffic signals, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

Drivers who encounter inoperable signals should consider intersections as “all-way-stops.” All vehicles should come to a complete stop at intersections and proceed in the order they arrive. When two vehicles reach an intersection at the same time, the vehicle to the immediate right has the right-of-way.

ITD urges motorists to use caution and patience, especially on snow-covered roads, they approach intersections.

The power outage extends from Shelley to Rexburg. Rocky Mountain Power has no estimate on when power will be restored.
