Residents invited to Dec. 17 open house to comment on Idaho 55 Corridor Study
BOISE – The Idaho Transportation Department is hosting an open house Tuesday (Dec. 17) to gather comment on an Idaho 55 Corridor Study.
The corridor study focuses on the section of Idaho 55 in Ada County that travels from north of State Street to the Banks-Lowman Road in Boise County. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the corridor study, identify corridor needs and offer comments.
The
open house is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Shadow Valley Golf Course, (15711
Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, 83714).
The Idaho 55 Corridor Study will result in a plan that will guide policies and projects important to the development of the highway during the next 20 years.
As part of the study, ITD will analyze safety, traffic, access management and environmental issues corridor-wide and county-by-county. The study will be based on community input, engineering analysis, and city, county, and agency planning goals.
Idaho 55 is an important north-south route that supports the Treasure Valley daily commute, the state’s long-haul trucking and agricultural industries, and recreational traffic.
