Meridian Road to be restricted south of I-84 on Monday, Tuesday nights (Jan. 13 and 14)

MERIDIAN – Traffic on Meridian Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Monday and Tuesday nights (Jan. 13 and Jan. 14) as part of a project to widen the Ten Mile Creek Bridge on Meridian Road, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

The closure will affect traffic between Overland Road and I-84. The outside north-bound lane and the outside southbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. In addition, the sidewalk on the east side of Meridian Road will be closed from Overland Road to the I-84 on-ramps.

During the lane restrictions this weekend, crews will be placing concrete guardrail on both sides of the roadway.

Widening the Ten Mile Creek Bridge will accommodate additional lanes on Meridian Road and the westbound on-ramp to I-84. The transportation department is preparing to rebuild the Meridian Interchange this spring.

Construction is funded in part through savings from the GARVEE (Grant Anticipation Revenue Vehicle) program.
