Bicyclists, walkers should anticipate delays on Greenbelt near Broadway Bridge next week

BOISE – Crews from the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will perform utility work on the Greenbelt near the Broadway Bridge Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb. 4-5). Flaggers and barricades will be stationed on the Greenbelt at each side of the Broadway Bridge to direct pedestrians and bicycle traffic during the project.

Crews will work on the north side of the Boise River Tuesday, then move to the south side of the river on Wednesday. Work will be done from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will drill on the Greenbelt to locate utility lines for the Broadway Bridge Replacement Project.

Pedestrians and bicyclists can travel on the Greenbelt under and near the Broadway Bridge during the work. Minor delays can be expected in the area. Signs along the Greenbelt approaching the Broadway Bridge will notify pedestrians and bicyclists of utility work and delays.

This work is being done to prepare for relocating utilities during construction of the new Broadway Bridge, anticipated to begin in late 2015.
