Section of U.S. 12 remains closed
BOISE – A 61-mile stretch of U.S. 12 between Milepost 100 and Milepost 161 remains closed, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The section is from two miles east of Lowell to two miles west of Powell. It closed on Sunday afternoon as a precaution. Since last Monday, significant amounts of snow have fallen in the area. Additional snow increases the chances of avalanches along the highway.
Travelers are advised to visit 511.idaho.gov or call 5-1-1 for the latest highway and driving conditions.
