Myrtle Street lanes to close temporarily starting Saturday for Boise JUMP project

BOISE - Placing construction cranes for the Simplot JUMP (Jack’s Urban Meeting Place) Project will require temporary closure of one or two lanes on Myrtle Street between 13th Street and 9th Street in Boise for nine days starting Saturday (March 8).

The special cranes will be used to swing large trusses into place.

One left lane will be closed weekdays and throughout the day during weekends. The two left lanes will be closed during weekend nighttime work.

The JUMP project will feature a six-story, multi-purpose center with more than three acres of green space for an urban park.

The project began in August 2012 and is slated to finish this summer.

McAlvain Construction, of Boise, is the primary sub-contractor for the concrete work. Hoffman Construction Co., of Portland, is the general contractor for the overall $70 million project.
