Spring break-up limits enacted for one north Idaho highway, cancelled for another
COEUR d'ALENE - Weight and/or speed restrictions will go into effect on Idaho 1 Sunday (March 9), and have been called off on a section of U.S. 95, the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The restrictions are designed to protect the road and travelers until warmer spring weather can solidify the road base.
Idaho 1 will be restricted beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday. Speed will be limited to 30 mph on commercial vehicles 10,000 Lb. Gross Vehicle Weight and over. Parts of Idaho 3, Idaho 41 and Idaho 57 already have restrictions.
U.S. 95 restrictions have been cancelled from the junction of U.S. 2 to the Canadian border due to improving roadway conditions.
