I-84 traffic lanes between Broadway and Gowen interchanges will be shifted this weekend
BOISE – Traffic lanes on I-84 between the Broadway and Gowen interchanges will move about five feet toward the outside shoulder and will be in place Saturday (March 29) morning.
The Idaho Transportation Department reminds drivers to slow down, pay attention and allow extra time when traveling through work zones.
The shift will create room for crews to work in the I-84 median during the spring. The temporary lanes will be marked with both orange construction barrels and concrete guardrail. All work is weather-dependant.
I-84 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. during the week. On weekends, lane restrictions will continue until 7 a.m. The speed limit is 55 mph on I-84.
ITD is adding a third lane in both directions of I-84 between the Broadway and Gowen interchanges. Both interchanges will be replaced and upgraded.
Construction updates will be sent via email and posted on the project website at www.itd.idaho.gov/BroadwayInterchange. To sign up for email construction updates, contact ITD at comments@itd.idaho.gov, visit the project website or call (208) 334-8005. Construction is expected to be complete by late 2015.
