Work to resume on U.S. 95 from Athol to Granite

COEUR d'ALENE – Work will resume on the U.S. 95 construction project from Athol to just south of Granite Hill, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

ITD advises motorists to be aware of construction equipment entering and exiting the work zone. Beginning Monday, April 7, trucks will be hauling road-base material on the newly constructed north-bound lanes of U.S. 95 in preparation for paving later this spring.

The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph when the base-hauling begins. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2014.

Scarsella Brothers of Kent, Wash., is the contractor on this $21 million project.
