ITD plans speed-zone changes for Donnelly, Middleton
BOISE - Speed zones in Donnelly and Middleton will be adjusted next week as part of the Idaho Transportation Department’s continuing effort to improve highway safety, congestion and traffic flow.
The change in Middleton, at the city’s request, will change the speed limits on Idaho 44 at Skyline Drive to the east of town. The change, from 35 mph to 25 mph, was requested by the city in mid-December. Following a speed study this spring when weather and road conditions improved, ITD agreed to modify the speed limit.

In Donnelly, ITD is relocating the 35-mph/25-mph speed zone boundary on the south end of town starting from Boulder Creek Bridge.
ITD conducted speed studies at various times in Donnelly during the last few years in determining the change.

Idaho Code 49-201(4) allows ITD to use engineering and traffic investigations to determine and declare a reasonable and safe maximum speed limit at any intersection or place or upon any part of the state highway system.
