Road work begins Monday east of Bliss on U.S. 26
GOODING – Work to resurface about six miles of U.S. 26 east of Bliss will begin Monday (April 7), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The project is expected to take about a month.
Drivers can expect delays as construction crews mill the existing roadway beginning near the railroad crossing at Bliss. The full-width rehabilitation project will extend east to near the Malad River.
Motorists may travel on an unpaved surface at times during the project. The project will remove cracking, rutting and potholes, and restore surface smoothness.
Drivers are urged to be cautious when approaching and driving through the work zone. Flaggers and pilot vehicles will guide motorists through the construction area. A 45-mph speed limit and a 10-foot width limit will be in effect.
Western Construction Inc., of Boise, is the contractor for the $2.2 million roadway project.
