BOISE – A public workshop will be held Wednesday (April 9) to gather input on design plans to replace the Broadway Bridge, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The workshop will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Washington Group Plaza (720 Park Blvd.) in the Central Plaza Training Room in Boise. It is the fourth in a series of design workshops the transportation department began hosting early last year.
ITD will present and gather input on several design options for the bridge replacement. The new bridge over the Boise River will include more lanes for traffic, wider sidewalks, bike lanes and improved access to the Greenbelt. The transportation department expects construction to begin in late 2015.
“The comments and feedback gathered from these workshops have been extremely helpful to the design process,” said Mark Campbell, ITD’s manager for the bridge project. “The workshop participants’ time, commitment and active participation has played a key role in helping ITD move forward with design decisions for this significant project.”
Design options will be presented to the larger community during a public open house later this year.
