Signal will be upgraded at Red Cap Corner today
KIMBERLY – New turn lights are being added to the traffic signal at Red Cap Corner at the junction of U.S. 30 and Idaho 50, today (Wednesday, April 9), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. This is an upgrade to a project that concluded last September,
Crews are installing an additional turn signal for the north and south legs of the intersection to improve safety for turning traffic by providing for a protected turn. The signal will include the flashing yellow arrow indicator light.
Additional signage at the emergency vehicle stop beacons immediately south of the junction also is being installed.
The upgrade is being completed as a change-order to the $700,000 signal-construction contract with Idaho Sand & Gravel, of Jerome. Drivers are reminded to pay close attention to the signal changes.
