Maintenance paving project will impact U.S. 95 traffic in Sandpoint beginning Wednesday (May 10th)
COEUR D'ALENE - Paving at the south end of Sandpoint will cause detours on U.S. 95 Wednesday and Thursday (May 10-11), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. Maintenance crews will pave from the intersection of First Avenue and Superior Street to Pine Street. Crews will grind and remove existing pavement and replace it with new asphalt.

On Wednesday, southbound traffic will be detoured from Pine Street using Third Avenue to Superior. On Thursday northbound traffic will be detoured onto Superior using the same route.

Work will begin at 9 a.m. each day to avoid most of the morning commute. Access will be maintained to local businesses and county offices. Motorists may be directed to different access points. Flaggers will guide traffic through the work zone area and to businesses and offices.

Weather permitting, the project will be complete by Thursday evening.
