Eastbound I-84 traffic in Nampa restricted for crack sealing starting Monday (April 28)
BOISE - Drivers on eastbound Interstate 84 between Karcher and Franklin (mileposts 33 to 36) will experience delays during crack-sealing work on the freeway beginning Monday (April 28) and continuing for two weeks. Crack sealing will preserve the roadway surface and will provide a smoother ride for motorists.
To minimize traffic impacts, work is slated for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - after the morning commute and before the evening commute. ITD will work to accomplish the repairs as quickly as possible.
One lane will be restricted in this section of two-lane road Monday through Thursday for the next two weeks, weather permitting. The lane to be closed will alternate from day-to-day as work progresses.
Electronic message boards will be used starting today to alert drivers to the upcoming restrictions.
The work needs to be done now so that crews will be able to finish and vacate prior to this summer’s bridge reconstruction and repair in the area.
