Eastbound I-84 on-ramp will close at Gowen Tuesday night
BOISE – The eastbound Interstate 84 on-ramp at the Gowen Interchange will close from 8 p.m. Tuesday (May 27) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (May 28), the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The closure will allow crews to excavate areas of the ramp to prepare for paving. The ramp and part of the eastbound I-84 shoulder will be temporarily widened to accommodate traffic during the next few weeks of construction.
Drivers may access eastbound I-84 from the Eisenman Interchange during the Tuesday night closure. Click here to download a map of the detour route.
ITD is rebuilding the Gowen and Broadway interchanges and adding a third lane in both directions of I-84 between the two. Construction is expected to be complete by late 2015.
Drivers can expect ongoing night-time lane restrictions on I-84 between Broadway and Gowen. The speed limit is 55 mph on I-84 during construction.
