Hearing scheduled to take comment on application for new 129,000-pound truck route in Canyon County
BOISE – A public hearing will be held in Caldwell to take comment on an application allowing trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds on a section of Idaho 55, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
These shipments are reducible, meaning cargo or goods can be removed to make a shipment lighter.
Comments will be taken on an application to allow trucks on Idaho 55 between Farmway Road and where Idaho 55 becomes Midland Boulevard (Milepost 10.61 to Milepost 16.76).
The hearing will be Tuesday, July 8, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Caldwell Inn & Suites in Caldwell, 908 Specht Avenue.
Transportation department staff members will be at the hearing to answer questions, and there will be an opportunity to give verbal or written testimony.
Those interested in reviewing the application before the hearing can visit itd.idaho.gov, and click on the 129,000 lbs. Truck Routes icon on the right side of the page.
