Construction on U.S. 20 in Island Park starts Monday (June 30)
RIGBY - Construction on U.S. 20 in Island Park will begin Monday (June 30), the Idaho Transportation Department announced. The project is scheduled for completion in August.
Crews will resurface a 12-mile stretch of highway between Island Park Lodge and the Montana line.
During construction, travel will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone. Motorists can expect delays.
Commercial drivers transporting permitted loads wider than 14 feet need to contact Resident Engineer Wade Allen (208-745-5680) or Staff Engineer Bryan Young (208-745-5682) 48 hours in advance of travel for special authorization to pass through the construction zone.
Drivers should watch for construction workers and equipment, and obey all traffic signs.
The transportation department awarded the $2.7-million contract to HK Contractors Inc., of Idaho Falls.
