Public invited to open house on U.S. 26 / Idaho 39 Corridor Plan
POCATELLO - An open house is planned to provide the public an opportunity to discuss recommended improvement projects for the U.S. 26/Idaho 39 Corridor, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced.

ITD planners and consultants will be available to listen to concerns and provide answers to questions at an open house at the Aberdeen City Council Chambers, 17 North Main St., on Tuesday, May 23, from 5-8 p.m.

At the last community meeting held in January 2005, the Existing Conditions Analysis, which inventories and analyzes current corridor conditions, was discussed and community input received.  From that meeting, a list of recommended improvement projects was developed.

Corridor plans are developed with local communities to address a variety of issues and alternatives. This big-picture planning approach leads to better and more cost-effective solutions and assures that the corridor will remain a vital link in Idahos transportation system.

Additional information about this project is available on the Web at itd.idaho.gov - choose Get Involved, then southeast Idaho on the map and click on Idaho 39 Blackfoot to Pingree/U.S. 26 Blackfoot to Peoples Canal Corridor Plan.
