Overlay projects start south of Grangeville and through Ferdinand on U.S. 95 Monday

LEWISTON - Crews will repair two sections of U.S. 95 beginning Monday (July 28) through Sept. 5 weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Idaho Transportation Department announced.

On the Whitebird Hill Overlay project, south of Grangeville on U.S. 95 from milepost 231 to milepost 234, crews will repair and replace guardrail, blade highway shoulders, repair cracks and apply a nearly two-inch-deep asphalt mix. The highway will be reduced to one-lane with flaggers directing traffic. Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible.

The End of Concrete to Lawyers Creek project, through Ferdinand on U.S. 95 from milepost 264 to milepost 267, consists of replacing concrete guardrail, repairing highway subgrade, milling the pavement surface for smoothness, repairing cracks, grading shoulders and applying a nearly two-inch-deep asphalt mix.

The roadway will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic. Delays of up to 15 minutes are possible. ITD reminds drivers to slow down and watch for workers in construction areas.

Both projects are being managed under one contract at a cost of $2.1 million. Poe Asphalt Paving Inc., of Post Falls, is the general contractor.
