Advisory: Johnson Bar wildfire could cause delays/closure of U.S. 12
LEWISTON—Delays and a potential highway closure are possible along U.S. 12 near milepost 96 due to the Johnson Bar wildfire, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
The highway near Kooskia is currently open. ITD crews may close it if the fire jumps the road or if heavy smoke obstructs motorists, causing a safety hazard.
The wildfire is burning 20 miles east of Kooskia and has burned 5,795 acres, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. It is zero percent contained.
