UPDATE: Idaho 21 reopens to one lane north of Idaho City
BOISE - Idaho 21, approximately seven miles north of Idaho City between Rabbit Creek Road and Banks-Lowman Road, reopened to one lane with a pilot car to guide motorists at 9:35 a.m. today (Thursday, Aug. 14). This followed a closure of the highway caused by debris flowing from a mudslide. The debris plugged a culvert and overran
the highway yesterday evening, the
Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Crews continue to investigate the
degree to which the roadway shoulder eroded and roadway base
was undermined was unknown last night, leading to a full closure of the
highway in the area
