Intersection of Eagle and E. St. Luke's to be flagged overnight Wednesday and Thursday
MERIDIAN – Crews will replace traffic signal poles at the intersection of Eagle Road and E. St. Luke’s Road overnight Wednesday and Thursday (Aug. 20 and 21), the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced. Construction is expected to be completed in mid-September.
The signal will be turned off from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. both nights, and flaggers will direct traffic through the intersection. Traffic will be restricted to one lane at various times overnight. The new signal will be in operation by morning. Over the next month, new traffic signal heads also will be installed on Eagle Road at the intersections of Franklin Road and Interstate 84.
Eagle Road will be reduced to 40 mph at night while crews are working, and nighttime lane restrictions in the construction zone will continue through mid-September. ITD asks motorists to please slow down, pay attention and plan extra time for delays.
The work is part of the improvements that ITD is constructing this summer on Eagle Road between Franklin Road and I-84. The project includes building a third southbound lane and adding sidewalk, curb and gutter on the west side of Eagle Road from Franklin to I-84.
Idaho Sand & Gravel, of Nampa, is the contractor on this $1 million project.
