UPDATE: Idaho 21 reopens today to two lanes north of Idaho City
BOISE COUNTY - Idaho 21, approximately seven miles north of Idaho City between Rabbit Creek Road and Banks-Lowman Road, reopened to two lanes this morning (Tuesday, Aug. 19), following a continuing restriction in the aftermath of a mudslide and plugged culvert almost a week ago.
The mudslide and debris closed the roadway the evening of Aug. 13. The route had been under one-lane operation during the daytime, with a pilot car to guide motorists, since Aug. 14. The initial debris plugged a culvert and overran the highway.
Crews cleared the culvert, which had clogged on the upstream side of the road, and completed shoulder repairs on the downhill (east) side.
